Our eye care professionals specialize in understanding how the human eye really works, as well as diseases and conditions that affect your vision—many of which do not always have obvious symptoms. Eye doctors of Northline TSO know how age and risk factors affect vision over time for young and old, and they understand the benefits and features of corrective lenses, both as eyeglass lenses and contact lenses.

At Northline TSO, our optometrists take the time to explain the results of your eye exam, describe your options and listen to your eye care needs. Because maintaining good eye health is an ongoing partnership, our eye doctors encourage you to ask questions and share your health information, which could be vital to monitoring, diagnosing and treating potential vision problems.
Dr. Rachel Cruz attended Texas A&M University, earning her Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Science in 2007. Gig ‘Em!! She went on to earn her doctoral degree from the University of Houston-College of Optometry in 2012, where she was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa-Optometry Honor Society. Go Coogs!
Dr. Cruz knows how important it is to provide patients with the best vision possible and is committed to ensuring the health of all her patients. She also believes that patient education is essential to health care and enjoys discussing all issues regarding ocular health and well-being. She also understands that living in the digital age presents unique challenges for our eyes and prides herself on providing a personalized eye care experience tailored to each individual patient’s needs. She and the Northline team are up-to-date on the latest optometric technologies including Opto-map imaging, OCT retinal scanning, digital device lenses, computer progressive options, and blue light protection. Their goal is to ensure optimal ocular health as well as clear and comfortable vision in our ever evolving world.
Dr. Cruz practices full-scope optometry including glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and dry eye treatment and management, as well as cataract and LASIK co-management. She also fits soft and hard contact lenses. Dr. Cruz is very passionate about helping people see their best!
Outside of the clinic, she and her husband consider themselves foodies and love exploring all that our amazing city has to offer. She especially loves spending time with their rescue pups, Neutron and Murphy. Her favorite activities include puppy snuggles and trips to the dog park.
Dr. Lizeth Molina was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She attended the University of Houston where she graduated with a B.S. in biology and a minor in chemistry. As soon as Dr. Molina graduated, she went straight into optometry school at the University Of Houston College Of Optometry to complete her doctorate. During optometry school, one of her externship sites was a low income clinic in Houston where she helped keep Houston eyes healthy. Her other externship site was in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the Indian health service where she expanded her knowledge of diabetic retinopathy and iritis. Dr. Molina has been working at different offices while in undergrad and optometry school and has over 8 years of experience in the optometry field.
Dr. Molina specializes in diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, lasik co-management and contact lens fitting. “I have always had bad vision, but as a teen, I met an Optometrist who fit me in my first pair of contact lenses. I didn’t just see better, I also became fascinated by the concept of sight and the science behind it. I wanted to learn all the things the doctor did to improve my vision and from then on, I knew what I wanted to do with my life.” states Dr. Molina, on why she chose the optical field.
In her free time, Dr. Molina likes quality time with her family, friends and her little cat Tom. Traveling has allowed her to know about different cultures and natural places, “so it has always interested me” says Dr. Molina. She also likes to explore Houston and Texas whether at a new restaurant, park or a quiet place to relax. Dr. Molina speaks both Spanish and English fluently and looks forward to serving you and your family at your next eye examination!

Julio has been with the company over 14 years. He knows all of the ins-and-outs of the Northline office. Having great experience in the Optical field, Mr. Vallejo always comes in with a positive attitude and is fluent in Spanish. He is great with patients and has helped entire generations of families. He is always happy to help new and former patients understand their changing, eye-care needs. “I am always looking for different ways to improve the quality of our customer care. If you have any suggestions to help us improve in any area– please let me know!” states Julio. Julio’s career goals are to grow with Texas State Optical as much as possible. His favorite part of the job is taking care of patients and seeing smiles on their faces once they have received their glasses. He likes helping them see the important things in life. Julio makes sure all of his staff understand what they need to achieve each and every day as well as helps them understand everything about the patients and TSO. His proudest accomplishment is his children, seeing them well educated and in a great position in each of their lives. Outside of work, Julio loves to watch sports and spend as much time with his family as possible. Julio’s favorite pastime is going on a summer vacation every year to the beach with his family in Ecuador.
Lucero is new to our Management team and provides an excellent amount of enthusiasm and professionalism. Her career plans are to grow with Texas State Optical, gaining the utmost amount of knowledge about the patients and their vision. Ms. Perez hopes to become a General Manger in the near future. Making a difference in people’s life is what makes her job worth coming to. She thoroughly enjoys helping patients better their vision. Lucero’s a fantastic team player. She takes what she has learned and shares it amongst her co-workers, leaving everyone with a great understanding and forming a bond with her team. Lucero gives 110%, providing so much positivity whom is also fluent in both English and Spanish. Spending quality time with her family is what Lucero enjoys most outside of the office. Her favorite pastime consists of big dinners with the whole family. Lucero’s proudest accomplishment is her household family, being a devoted wife and a loving mother. Her favorite quote is given by the one and only Bible:

Oscar has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Houston. He plans to continue his education in Optometry and hopes to enroll in the Optometry Program at the University of Houston. Oscar enjoys helping the patients see the important things in life. He is happy whether the patients get glasses or contacts, he wants them to be able to see with no blur, whatsoever. Oscar wants to make sure that each patient gets their glasses with the best quality possible with their exact prescription. Oscar can help assist our TSO friends and family in English or Spanish. A proudest accomplishment of Oscar’s is completing his Bachelor’s degree. “I am the first one in my family to go to college and I just want to make my family proud.” states Oscar. Outside of the office, Oscar likes to draw, take walks, he enjoys strolls through the park, he enjoys taking pictures of nature, acknowledging how vast and beautiful it is and last but not least, Oscar loves to volunteer at animal shelters. Playing the guitar and speaking German are two of Oscar’s driven goals right now, “They aren’t easy to learn, but I won’t give up!”, says Oscar. Oscar’s favorite quote comes from Maya Angelou, who once was an American poet:
“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
Cinthya has such a bright personality who thoroughly enjoys assisting the Doctor to give the patients a smooth and pleasant experience. Cinthya has a positive, fun attitude whom is able to assist our English and Spanish speaking patients, being a fluent English and Spanish speaker herself. She loves learning new and challenging tasks and has a passion in helping the patients with their diverse vision care needs. Cinthya loved spending countless, warm summer days in the country when she was a child. “I would spend those summers with my grandparents” states Cinthya, which now comes to her as a favorite childhood memory. Outside of work, Cinthya likes to travel and is always looking for a new place to visit! She also loves to try different types of foods, always enjoying something new. Edison Arantes, known as Pelé is a retired Brazilian football player whom Cinthya shows an interest in, as he has given her, her favorite quote below:
“Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.”
Nick is attending San Jacinto College, aiming to transfer to the University of Houston to graduate with a Bachelor of Science Degree for Biology. He also plans to enter the school’s Optometry Program! Learning the inner workings of the Optical Industry and using the knowledge he has gained here at Texas State Optical is a career goal to help him achieve becoming an Optometrist. He really likes building rapport with patients and that is something he would like to build on as he grows in the profession. In the future, Nick also hopes to own his own TSO practice. Nick finds the patient interactions invaluable. “You don’t find a workplace where everyone gets along so well with each other.” is something Nick has told us about his experience at Texas State Optical. He likes that the patients continually confuse him for a Doctor, he says it’s a great compliment! He has such a willingness to learn and helps out with the Reception Desk when he can. He loves to play video games or get out with his friends, especially when the cold weather comes in. Nick considers himself a gamer who, of course balances that out with other aspects of his life which include Netflix time, family and friends. Nick states that his proudest accomplishment is who he has turned out to be today.
Cindy’s goals are to expand her knowledge in the optical industry. Seeing patients light up as they are able to see clearly makes Cindy’s job and position so much more worthwhile. “I really enjoy going to work every day to help patients see better.” states Cindy. She is a team player, avid learner and brings a great drive to work every day. Her proudest accomplishment consists of buying and owning her own car within a year and winning an all-expense paid trip to our nation’s capital. Cindy enjoys long walks down the “make-up” isle, buying or even browsing the make-up isle. She even enjoys applying it! Cindy speaks both English and Spanish fluently. Her favorite quote is by the one and only Albert Einstein:
“Creativity is intelligence having fun.”
Beatriz attended U of H and her goal is to grow with Texas State Optical. She wants to excel as the Lab Technician and provide eyewear as promised by quality check standards to the patients. Her favorite part about her job is being able to help patients and ensure their eyewear is as accurate to their prescription as assured. “I know the importance of accuracy and sight due to using glasses myself.” states Beatriz. She has at least 9 years of experience in Lab and Quality Control and is very detail oriented, striving for perfection when it comes to working on the patients glasses. Her proudest accomplishment is becoming a part of Texas State Optical and having the opportunity to train and learn all things in the Optical Lab. Outside of work, Beatriz likes to read books, explore Pinterest for recipes, decorate, craft and go on cruises. Beatriz’s husband as well as herself, love cruises so much, they were married on one! Her favorite childhood memory is spending summers at her grandparents’ house where she received endless love and snacks!
